Essential qualifications:
- Academic degree awarded by a university, preferably in the field of the arts
- Professional experience in managing international art or cultural institutions
- Experience as a curator of several international exhibitions
- Teaching and publishing activities (examples should be stated)
- Long-standing international contacts with renowned artists and cultural institutions
- Several years of activity in an outstanding position
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German, and English, knowledge of at least one more language
- Management skills:
Personal competence: Exemplary behaviour as required in an official function; dependability and tolerance in dealing with frustrating situations.
Social competence: Ability to motivate staff; ability to deal with conflicts.
Methodical competence: Ability to plan and implement a budget; ability to resolve conflicts, strategic thinking.
Description of duties:
Since its founding by Oskar Kokoschka in 1953 the International Summer Academy of Fine Art has become one of the most renowned art academies in the world. Every year during the summer up to 450 students from 50 countries take part in two- to six-week long classes, courses and workshops. The teaching programme comprises the artistic subjects painting and drawing, graphic art, illustration, sculpture, three-dimensional design/modelling, a stone sculpture symposium, photography, video, new media, architecture, design, jewellery design, as well as thematic defined classes which cover various subjects.

General remarks:
The selection procedure is carried out according to the regulations of the Salzburg Objectivisation Law dating from 6 November 2000, LGBl. No. 7/2001. All applications will be reviewed and assessed by the panel according to the application documents which are submitted, and selected candidates will be invited to an interview.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a civil servant under contract to the Regional Government of Salzburg.
