January 9th at 3pm :
PUBLIC PRESENTATION of the POLYGON at APEX ART, 291 Church St, 10013 New York.
After ten years of research and experiment at the cross-road of art, economics, urban planning, science and politics, LIID (Laboratoire d'Ingénierie d'Idées / Idea Engineering Lab) is pleased to announce its expansion in the shape of the POLYGON.
POLYGON is a research platform in which LIID and its founder, French artist Raphaële Bidault-Waddington, will invite various 'sharp and original brains' from many countries and disciplines to bring their point of view on 5 key topics :
1 - Urban Conceptual Models Contest or how architecture deals with Intellectual Capital and Knowledge-Based Urban Development (KBUD) strategies.
2 - Prototyping the Democratic Corporation when companies are becoming political organizations, and public governances, competitive structures (and with regard to the concept of an 'artistic company').
3 - Art as a form of intelligence and the possibility of an Aesthetic Intelligence that can be applied to non-artistic practices.
4 - The Republic of Images as a fictional project to investigate the extended time horizon of environmental issues and governance need.
5 - Polygon free-style creative exercise about the geometrical abstract figure.
Furthering Bruno Latour's controversy organization principles, LIID thus invents a Polygonal Research method that consists in creating a contrasted panorama of multi-disciplinary subjective visions, to circle complex issues in a democratic multi-faceted approach.
