The exhibition presents artists who did their residency at SPACE Gallery in 2010 – Polish artist Jakub Jasiukiewicz, Hungarian artist Szabolcs Suli-Zakar and two artists from the Czech Republic Ivan Svoboda and Matej Smetana. The show features works created during their residency as well as older pieces which are emblematic for their artistic practices. As for the medium the show is dominated by video and installation.
SPACE Residency Lab was launched in 2006 and is designed for young emerging artists and theoreticians from Slovakia and abroad, primarily active in the field of multimedia and intermedia art. In 2009 SPACE Gallery and its residential programme were included into an international network of institutions organising residencies Res Artis.
The residency programme is supported by the International Visegrad Fund and Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Slovak Republic.
The exhibition is realised thanks to the support of the Hungarian Cultural Institute of the Republic of Hungary Bratislava and the Polish Institute in Bratislava.
