Since 2006, Hors Pistes has been presenting visual works investigating the assorted ruptures, twists and turns of contemporary film and video. Screenings (fiction, documentary, essay...) but also performances, video installations, ephemeral web images: the event offers an international selection of these forms and pursues its passion for the diversity, for the fringes and for the crossings of genres in contemporary moving images.
Hors Pistes lately presented works by Hito Steyerl, Neil Beloufa, Denis Côté, Danielle Arbid, Corinna Schnitt, Gabriel Abrantes, Elise Florenty, James Benning…
Hors Pistes takes place in the theatres of the Centre Pompidou as well as its exhibition space on the lower floor. The theatres offer a deliberately eclectic selection of recent films (section1), while the exhibition space centers each year on a new theme relative to visual representation (section 2).
30 SCREENINGS AND ONE EXHIBITION
Hors Pistes put forward 2 sections. Section 1: a programme of more than 30 showings exploring the new tendencies of contemporary image.
Section 2: an exhibition around themes closely related to image — this year = ANIMALS
