Grazer Kunstverein – Artistic director


The Grazer Kunstverein – place of production, exhibition and communication of contemporary art – is looking for a new director for the duration of five years from autumn 2012.


You have a relevant academic background and could gain experiences in curating exhibitions as well as building a solid network. In addition to a profound knowledge of contemporary art, you are familiar with the latest artistical trends as well as emerging artists. You can prove your knowledge through publications as author/co-author, your success is comprehensible due to reviews, sponsorships or awards. Above all, you understand yourself not as a person who only administrates art, but has a special attitude towards creativity and knows how to recognize new developments at an early stage. We require excellent language skills in German and English as well as the willingness to travel and to move to Graz if necessary.


The responsibility for extending the independent artistic profile of the Grazer Kunstverein ranks among your main tasks. Realizing projects within an accurate budget limit, coordinating a team, communicating with representatives of politics, sponsors, members, other art societies as well as with the art scene in general are the your daily duties.
