The international scientific conference, Art and Reality 2011: Art Criticism, was held in St. Petersburg, November 25-27, 2011. It was organized by the Petr Konchalovsky Foundation and attracted a host of prestigious art scientists, critics, curators, collectors and market experts, as well as journalists and bloggers from around the world.

A notable event in St. Petersburg this autumn was the Loft Project ETAGI-hosted, large-scale group exhibition, 'Nordic Art Today', consisting of works by artists hailing from Scandinavia and Northern Russia. The Russian art critic, Dmitry Golynko-Wolfson, has written a careful analysis of the exhibition, and attempts to answer the question: What worries and creates dissatisfaction in contemporary Nordic art?
