GROSSMUGL'S CAT
A public art project and book by Regina Möller
At the invitation of the public art program / art and culture department of the Niederösterreichische Landesregierung (Austria), Regina Möller created a playground sculpture called 'Großmugl's Cat' for the new building of the Kindergarten in Großmugl – built by the Austrian architect Franz Sam of Sam/ Ott-Reinisch architect group.
Möller's contribution is a 3 m x 4.30 m large cat sitting in front of a little hill. The cat is a constructed climbing wall for children and, at the same, an embodiment of the myths and mysticism surrounding the archetype cat. She is placed in front of a hill that has a tunnel running through it. The kids can use this escape as a hideout from the watching cat.
Along with the playground Regina Möller has published a sketch book – a homage on the proverbial cat inside all of us.
52 pages of content – texts and images, b/w print, German language only.
