Ent( r )e - Loreto Martínez Troncoso at Centre d'art contemporain de la Ferme du Buisson

Ent(r)e is Loreto Martínez Troncoso's first ever solo exhibition in France. She was already known here for her spoken performances; this project will be at the heart of a larger constellation of works, entitled Fuga de Otoño, which will occur at various times and in different places throughout the autumn.

Ent(r)e was built like a dwelling, a room of one's own, a journey. Depending on a venue's architecture, history, secrets, and acoustics, can it be made into a space of creation? Ent(r)e invites us to enter inside a space as well as inside a head: 'A dwelling space. The space I inhabit, as well as the space that inhabits me. With its partitions and corridors, windows, doors, walls, floors, basement, nooks and crannies, lit areas and shaded corners, living and intimate spaces, alternatively exhibiting and concealing, talkative and silent.'

This space, which at first seems almost empty, disrupts our perception and slowly influences it. Whispers, reflections, echoes, distorted shadows, and changes in the lighting, turn the exhibition into a subtly magical universe, inhabited by ghosts and spirits. From the disappearing body and the voice, to the rituals of possession and the stretching of time, the artist's familiar obsessions are to be found everywhere, culminating in the nocturnal festival she has dreamt up to mark the end of the exhibition.
