Center for visual culture of the Museum of Contemporary Art presents the results of the film workshop realized as a part of the research project ''From dionysian socialism to predatory capitalism''. Through team work and continuous discussions, and under expert supervision of the mentor Želimir Žilnik, the participants of the workshop have explored cultural developments in Serbia and Yugoslavia during the second half of the 20th century. While taking part in the workshop they created their film stories which in fact represent a certain mosaic of personal interpretations of historical narratives. The aim of the project was to develop, through practical work, an active critical position regarding the ways the history is being written, and to approach with such a critical attitude to the creative process in the medium of film and art video. As the outcome five short films were realized in which the transformations of local social structures were shown from the viewpoint of their protagonists, unknown heroes of the history, through small personal stories intertwined with archive materials.
