About vkunst frankfurt
vkunst frankfurt is planned to once again take place in the city center of Frankfurt/Main. The exhibition will deal with current video art trends and the direction that this art form is heading. The title 'neue klarheit' ('new clarity') incorporates philosophy, history, time, and pictures. The moving picture will be explored further at this year's event in order to gain a better understanding of the universe of possible actions in media and video art.
Most of the galleries as well as some shops located in Frankfurt's Fahrgasse will once again host the exhibition and thus provide the framework for an 'open air exhibition hall'.
Over the course of two evenings, from 8:00 pm to midnight, the artists will present their projections, interactive installations and animated computer art in the participating galleries, transforming their windows into huge canvases.
vkunst frankfurt takes place annually and provides a platform for national and international artists of this art form.
Aims of the 2012 exhibition 'neue klarheit' ('new clarity'):
With this year's title 'neue klarheit', the fourth edition of vkunst frankfurt will focus on the meaning of order and clarity in a world that becomes more and more complex. Clarity is transparency, lucidity, orientation. Does clarity play a role in contemporary arts? Does current media art reflect a desire for simplicity or rather the chaos of formal trends? Finding answers to those questions is the aim of vkunst frankurt IV.

Your submission should include a digital copy (CD/DVD) of your work, plus three pictures (300 DPI, max. 22 cm lateral length) and a short description, as well as a short CV (altogether no more than 800 characters), which, in case of acceptance, will serve as base material for the catalogue.
