My current photographs are all fragmented ... my vision is parceled out ... I lost my complete images in 1976.
The years that followed the outbreak of the war in Lebanon were those of my visual silence ... I was unable to see a complete image ... unable to understand the assurance and arrogance of a full vision...
It is only much later, when I realized that an image may be fragmented, that I started taking photographs.
Recently, and after this long journey, my photos found a physical entity (print on a full support) but the crack is still there...

Jean-Pierre Watchi had his video 'Coventry street' shown at galerie 'Bernard Jordan' – Paris during the Sunday's screening 2012. He will be part of the Dubaï Art Fair and the Beirut Art Fair 2012. He is having a solo show at galerie 'Janine Rubeiz' – Beirut next July.
