The Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Brussels/Higher School of Arts and the City of Brussels are pleased to announce the opening, in September 2012, of:

ISAC

INSTITUT SUPÉRIEUR DES ARTS ET DES CHORÉGRAPHIES DE BRUXELLES (HIGHER SCHOOL OF ARTS AND CHOREOGRAPHY OF BRUSSELS)

Higher arts education in the performance, visual and spatial arts,
specialisation Body States/Theatricalities of Art (BS/TA)

Dance, performance and the visual arts are the subject matter of an educational programme that aims to reinvent our vision of the body by training artists in a manner that is professional and vocational (master class, placements) while also ensuring that students develop an openness of spirit and adaptive abilities.

The purpose is to train artists and dancers outside the context of choreographic companies with students free to build their learning path through individual and group practice. At various levels, they can experiment with new forms of choreography and/or performance while acquiring the skills inherent in a higher arts diploma awarded after three or five years of study (Bachelor's or Master's degree).

The Institute's field of investigation is the relationship, in the broadest possible terms, between man and his intimate and public space. Through multiple configurations of the exhibiting and representation of the body, ISAC will be seeking to question heterogeneous forms of art and language, exploring the exchanges and interaction between the body, the stage and various artistic media as part of a resolutely interdisciplinary approach.
