Artists, submit your work for Round 5 by April 12.

Have your work seen and reviewed by Adrianne Rubenstein,
gallery director at James Fuentes Gallery, curator and visual artist.

Adrianne Rubenstein has been with James Fuentes Gallery in New York since 2011. She recently co-curated 'Forget About the Sweetbreads' with artist Joanne Greenbaum. This exotic title was culled from an episode of 'The Cosby Show' set in a gourmet restaurant. The show featured work by Heike Kati Barath, Miriam Cahn, Ellen Gronemeyer, Alice Mackler, Annette Messager, Norbert Prangenberg and Hal Saulson and was positively reviewed in the New York Times. Gallerist NY reported 'Even if artist Joanne Greenbaum and James Fuentes's associate director, Adrianne Rubenstein, had included work by only one artist in their group show about the uses and peculiar attributes of ceramics, it would have been a hit—so long as that artist was Alice Mackler, an octogenarian ceramicist represented here by nine wild little ceramic figurines, all from 2012'…'But seven artists are represented here, and none of them underwhelms.'

Adrianne has served as a visiting critic at Hunter College and Rutgers University for their MFA thesis exhibitions. Born in Montreal in 1983 and completing her undergraduate studies at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2006, Adrianne earned a Master's degree in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2011. During the interim between her degrees she resided in Toronto, where she worked at Greener Pastures Contemporary Art and maintained a studio practice.
As a painter, curator, and gallery director Adrianne has a unique interdisciplinary approach to promoting the arts.

ABOUT ARTVETTING.COM
Artvetting.com is introducing a new concept to the art world. An online forum where artists can access some of the critical market makers and taste makers who appreciate and understand the subtle workings that comprise the business of the art world. Each month we invite artists to register ($20 fee to cover costs) and upload five samples of their work plus a CV and 250 word artist statement. From these submissions we curate a group of ten artists who will be vetted by an art world professional.

• Round One was vetted by Hudson, owner of Feature Inc., on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

• Round Two received comments from Isaac Lyles from Derek Eller Gallery.

• Round Three was vetted by Brian Clamp, gallerist and owner of Clampart in New York City

• Round Four was vetted by Susan Inglett, gallerist, print publisher and art fair founder.

Artvetting.com, founded by Lis Ivers (formerly director at Marianne Boesky Gallery, Matthew Marks Gallery and others) and Dan Peyton, photographer and collector, aims to reach out to artists at all levels in order to provide information about how their work is seen by the decision makers who can guide and nurture artistic talent. A resource for artists, collectors and curators, Artvetting.com will archive each group of work and over time create a critical mass of reviewed contemporary art. The site will feature this growing collection alongside the reviews from art world professionals plus blog entries, comments from the artists selected, a featured artists section and information not only about how art world professionals view and consider new art but more importantly how artists can access this challenging and sometimes exclusive world.
