In the following three courses (out of altogether 21) there are still a few places available. If you like to participate, we are happy to receive your application!
Bassam El Baroni's course in curatorial practice is about envisioning exhibitions and other forms of curatorial projects. It is about critical thinking on art in relation to our time and in connection to the political. This will be achieved by using some of Jean-François Lyotard's strongest concepts and by pointing out their continuing relevance at this particular moment in history. The participants can work together on a collaborative project, but they may also develop their own projects and discuss them in the group.
Duration: 22 July–3 August 2013
Fee: € 660.- (red. € 500.-)

In his own work, Felix Gmelin investigates political imagery and language, utopia and dogmatism, while comparing contemporary political activism with that of times past. His course will examine, amongst other topics, the artistic method of displacement. Students will develop individual projects by simple means in whatever medium or discipline is chosen, with the aim of finding specific means of individual expression.
Duration: 22 July–10 August 2013
Fee: € 890.- (reduced € 650.-)

Thomas Kilpper will make floorcuts with his students in an empty building, scheduled for demolition, in Hallein. They will cut pictures into the existing flooring – pictures like journals, pictures of the place, images or texts that hold a certain importance for the students at the moment, etc. Afterwards, they will cover the floor with letterpress ink and then make prints on paper or fabric. The course will include research and examination of the collective project.
Duration: 22 July–10 August 2013
