Call for Application: Sculpture - Transmedial Space

The Department Sculpture – Transmedial Space of Prof. Eva Grubinger at the University of Art and Design Linz calls for application.

Programme
The programme Sculpture – Transmedial Space proposes an expanded concept of sculpture and spatial practice. This wider understanding includes objects and installations done in traditional materials such as metal, wood or plaster. However, the communication of artistic techniques is not merely based on the objective work on and with forms and materials per se, but involves their economic, ideological and contextual implications as well.
A key element of the curriculum lies in the development of individual artistic positions and the acquisition of intellectual, social and organisational skills to enable students to implement their own, independent artistic projects.
An annual thematic focus pursued in cooperation with international guest lecturers – artists, critics, curators, scientists or gallery owners – supports students in conceptualising their works and provides them with insights into, and contacts with, the various cultural environments of which contemporary artistic practice forms part.
The thematic areas and artworks created over the course of the academic year conclude with presentations and exhibitions.

Application guidelines and selection process:
You can apply to the selection committee by an online registration and a proximate admission examination. We appreciate entries from all ranges of experience.
Please bring your portfolio to the admission examination.
