'So Close, So Far' part 3

So Close, So Far is a new creative concept, which was launched in 2012 as a large-scale group exhibition of contemporary Bulgarian artists living and working abroad. It was organized with the support of the National Palace of Culture and in became a significant annual cultural event in Sofia. The realization of the exhibition was initiated by a team of art critics, curators, artists, experts and coordinators assembled by the National Endowment Fund '13 Centuries Bulgaria'. The mission of the exhibition is to show the art of young Bulgarian artists from abroad and to offer opportunities for creative platform which gathers them once a year in Sofia and aims to become a regular cultural event, which leaves traces and generates opportunities for the creation of new ideas.
The National Endowment Fund '13 Centuries Bulgaria' exhibition team is pleased to announce an open call for participation in the third edition of the exhibition So Close, So Far, which is planned to take place in September 2014.

Application Requirements:

• The competition is open for artists of Bulgarian origin or born in Bulgaria, who, at the point of application, hold a permanent or temporary residence abroad;
• All artists can apply with a maximum of 5 works in all media of the contemporary visual arts: painting, sculpture, prints, photography, collage, video art, installation, etc.
• Each artist can be accepted for participation in the exhibition just once.

Each application must include:

• Completed application form * (Bulgarian and English);
• Maximum 5 illustrations / visualizations of the proposed works for the exhibition: photographs of the works (Jpg), audio/video (mp3/mp4); files must be clearly marked so they correspond to the relevant technical description in the form.

The exhibition team will review all applications and will inform in writing the approved candidates eligible for participation in the exhibition. Rejected applications will be also notified.
