Until 17 August 2014 Museum Arnhem presents the exciting exhibition Threads. It features works from more than 20 international artists and designers in which the medium of thread or textiles play a prominent role. Their work can be seen as a metaphor for the 'interweaving' of artistry and craft; art and the public; and personal and societal themes.

The exhibition is multidisciplinary and includes installations, video works, wall hangings and standing objects, some of which are interactive. Thus visitors will be able to make a stitch on the embroidery hoop Crossover Collective (2013) by Floor Nijdeken(1981, Apeldoorn).

Participating artists include:

Faig Ahmed (1982, Baku, AZ); Marie Julia Bollansée (1960, België, BE); Célio Braga (1963, Guimarânia, BR); Tiffany Chung (1969, Danang, VN); Julie Cockburn (1966, Londen, UK); Kyriaki Costa (1971, Nicosia, CY); Ana de la Cueva (1968, Guadalajara, MX); Yael Davids (1968, Jeruzalem, IL); Shezad Dawood (1974, Londen, UK); Gluklya (1969, St.Petersburg, RU); Nicholas Hlobo (1975, Kaapstad, ZA); Merel Karhof (1978, Edam, NL); Aisha Khalid (1972, Faisalabad, PK); Fransje Killaars (1959, Maastricht, NL); Kimsooja (1957, Taegu, KR); Monali Meher (1969, Mumbai, IN); Christien Meindertsma (1980, Utrecht, NL); Almagul Menlibayeva (1969, Almaty, KZ); Floor Nijdeken (1981, Apeldoorn, NL); Barbara Polderman (1971, Wisch, NL); Saad Qureshi (1986, Londen, UK); Chiharu Shiota (1972, Osaka, Japan), Berend Strik (1960, Nijmegen, NL); Lin Tianmiao (1961, Taiyuan, CN); Remco Torenbosch (1982, Assen, NL)
