PAINTER AND PAINTING
A MEHMET GÜLERYÜZ RETROSPECTIVE
The retrospective presents an inventory of Mehmet Güleryüz's oeuvre from the 1960s to the 2010s. Having earned himself a special and privileged place in Turkey's art scene over half a century with his critical and expressionist style, Güleryüz's art centers on people and the sociopolitical conditions surrounding them. The exhibition sheds light on the development and transformation of the artist's generous quest for expression, which ranges from painting, drawing, sculpture and engraving to theater and performance.
