Moscow City Galleries Network: Open-call for Artists and Curators

Moscow Artist-in-Residence program by Moscow City Galleries Network provides opportunities for Russian and international artists and curators who are interested in staying and working in non-central disctricts of Moscow, communication and collaboration with local residents, developing and implementing public art, street art and community art projects based on the ideas of local area studies and mythopoesis, developing a new trend, combining science and art interests in the forms of public art.

Moscow City Galleries Network is a municipal cultural institution. The network consists of 18 art galleries located in the peripheral districts of Moscow. Its aim is to decentralize culture and bring contemporary art in these districts, creating new points of interest there, changing the attitude of the local residents to the place where they live.

Interested artists and curators can apply by completing the application form. Please, send it together with portfolio and motivation letter (PDF) on art-residency@vzmoscow.ru. The duration of the residency from 2 weeks till 3 months.

Applications will be accepted until January, 31, 2016.

The residency paid by artist, but having a large network of partners Moscow City Galleries actively help to raise funds in order to cover flying costs and living expenses.
