Tine Guns 'To Each His Own Mask' opening solo exhibition
In Netwerk Tine Guns will exhibit a video installation in anticipation of her upcoming film, 'To Each His Own Mask', which will see its premiere there later this year. The work views the current protest culture through the perspective of carnival rituals.
A layered installation, in which images mask each other and give new identities to the familiar.
Charlotte Lybeer 'Epidermis II' opening solo exhibition
+ introduction by Johan Pas
+ book presentation 'Epidermis II' – published by Art Paper Editions, Ghent
Photographic work of Charlotte Lybeer was previously seen in Netwerk in the group exhibition, 'Fat Birds Don't Fly', in 2012. Netwerk has invited her again, this time for the realisation of a solo exhibition.
'Epidermis II' shows new work that is linked to Lybeer's doctoral research 'Lifestyle Supermarket' at the Royal Academy in Antwerp.
CHVE concert
As the solo act, CHVE, Colin H. van Eeckhout, founder and vocalist of Amenra, has been exorcising inner demons for some time, armed with a hurdy-gurdy, a series of loops / effects and his imposing and intriguing voice. An inward journey, full of dark thoughts, scars and memories, between sadness and tears.
A sincere, fragile and intense sound that will also be found on the soundtrack of the film 'To Each His Own Mask' by Tine Guns.
Tape Tum concert
Tape Tum is the project of brothers, Lieven and Benjamin Dousselaere, with François Gustin. Tape Tum makes atmospheric pop music, sometimes soft and melodious, sometimes astonishing, always intriguing. After their highly acclaimed debut album, 'The Night We Called It A Day', in 2010, and in anticipation of their new album, they present new work in Netwerk.
Lieven Dousselaere also composed the soundtrack of the short film, 'A Day Will Come My Future Will Be Your Past', by Sarah & Charles, to be seen in the exhibition, 'An Unbelievable Truth'.
