Boisbuchet's workshops are an initiative of Vitra Design Museum's founding director Alexander von Vegesack, who started both projects at the same time. Today, Boisbuchet offers the most versatile and distinguished workshop program on the international design agenda and in 2016 sets its focus on 'origin & translation'.
Living in a globalizing culture, tolerance, understanding and learning are increasingly challenged. This 26th edition of our workshops puts creativity to the test: What are role models, what is authentic and original, and how are projects influenced by reproduction or imitation, interpretation and a translation of the existing?
This season presents 47 acclaimed tutors from 20 different countries and invites you to a rich diversity of practices: furniture and products, flowers, the landscape, choreography, fashion, costumes, decoration, art, curating and scenography, installations, interiors and architecture, craft, food and yoga, lighting, robotics, and engineering.
Discover our program and participate in your own journey between Origin and Translation with a unique experience at Boisbuchet!

Boisbuchet's workshops are offered in cooperation with Vitra Design Museum and Centre Pompidou and realised by CIRECA (Centre International de Recherche et d'Éducation Culturel et Agricole) – the nonprofit organisation that runs Boisbuchet's program and is certified by the French government. Other institutions such as universities, non-governmental organisations or companies are always welcome as our partners, for whom we can tailor programs individually.
