Organizational background
MCASA is a non-governmental organization established with the aim to support and promote contemporary art in Mongolia. The Association implements strategically important projects to improve competitive capacity of Mongolian artists at domestic and international platforms, through involving them in various training, exchange and grant programs, competitions and exhibitions; works to improve public education in art and raises public awareness on social, environmental issues through art.

Started with very little fund and few numbers of staff, the association has been working ambitiously to fulfill its aim, utilizing limited sources and bringing together people and organizations, who shared their enthusiasm for the support of contemporary art in Mongolia.

For relatively short period of time, MCASA was able to collaborate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Mongolia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar City Government, Arts Council of Mongolia, Embassy of Mongolia in Canberra and Rome, U.S. Department of State, Embassy of the United States in Ulaanbaatar, Goethe Institute in Ulaanbaatar, Getty Foundation, Prince Claus Fund, Swiss Development Agency, Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, Art Gallery of South Australia, Global art Affairs Foundation and others.

In 2015, MCASA organized first ever Mongolia Pavilion in 56th La Biennale di Venezia.
