Casa Rio is an international residency space for artists and cultural producers located in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro. Founded in partnership between People's Palace Projects do Brasil and Rio de Janeiro's Cultural State Secretariat, the house opened its doors to the public in October 2015 and became, in a short period of time, a place enriched with exchanges between artistic, cultural and researching professionals.
Casa Rio is managed and curated by People's Palace Projects do Brasil. Its aim is to promote exchange programs between artists, producers and institutions. To its residents, it offers a strong network of partners, established during the 20 years of People's Palace Projects' activities in Brazil.
About People's Palace Projects do Brasil:
PPP do Brasil is a not-for-profit arts organisation based in Rio de Janeiro that advances the practice and understanding of art for social justice. It creates participatory arts projects, performances, educational initiatives and debates. We bring artists, activists, academics and audiences together for projects that address a wide range of social justice and human rights issues.
