We would like to announce the possibility of three discourse-based directions for the Master's of Arts in Fine Arts at the Lucerne School of Art and Design: «Art Mediation» which addresses contemporary strategies between curating, art mediation and artistic research, «Art in Public Spheres» which addresses art in relation to contemporary notions of public space and participation, and «Image Practices» which address contextualised and socially engaged painting, drawing and photography. Please send a short project proposal, your portfolio and a letter of motivation.
The Master of Arts in Fine Arts programme offers support for personal artistic projects through group and individual mentoring from international artists, academics, professionals in the art field and curators. The theoretical part of the course is supported and developed through a series of public lectures, tutorials and guest professorships. In addition to this, there will be practice-based seminars on creating exhibitions, art projects in the public sphere, projects in art-mediation and on entering competitions. The research-focused seminars are an important part of the Master's thesis in «Art Mediation», «Image Practices» and «Art in Public Spheres».
The Master of Fine Arts in Lucerne is an artistic, practice-based and theoretically informed master's programme. Our aim is to create a precise focus on art in public spheres, image practices and art mediation as an artistic strategy.
