Aline Bouvy lives and works in Brussels and Luxembourg. She studied at the École de Recherche Graphique in Brussels and at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. The sculptures, objects and installations that emerge from her work are difficult to classify. In 2019 she spent a few months at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin and was fascinated by the visual world of the Weimar Republic. For her exhibition 'PUP' in the exhibition space of the Künstlerhaus, she was inspired by advertisements, publicity and literature of this time of upheaval. Fascinated by the progressive and uncompromising creative will of many artists, she distilled graphic elements and motifs from vast amounts of image sources and combined them in space with her doll objects and grotesque ceramics.
For her exhibition at IKOB she will reassemble the works created in Berlin.
