Autostrada Biennale presents the documentary film about its 3rd edition What If A Journey... and announces that
Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu and Joanna Warsza continue their role as co-curators for the 4th edition in 2023
2021 has not been easy for many in the world. However, for those of us working in the field of contemporary art, finding ways to realize and share our work for the public has become a form of recovery and survival. We are happy to share the documentary film looking back at our hardworking summer for making What If A Journey... possible. And we would also like to proudly announce that Autostrada Biennale will continue to work with Övül Ö. Durmuşoğlu and Joanna Warsza as co-curators of the 4th edition in 2023. We will continue building on the path we collaboratively started.
The 3rd edition of the Autostrada Biennale What If A Journey… was held successfully in Prizren, Prishtina and Peja during the summer of 2021. The exhibition was woven around the interplay between a host and a guest - that is the artworks were mostly realized locally by joining inner and outer forces of artistic imagination, expertise, local knowledge and research instead of being transported from outside. They created their own communities within and around. We facilitated many exciting and ongoing conversations that brought local and international artists, activists, makers, cultural workers, researchers together.
What we achieved in this intense and joyful journey is summarized in the documentary film shared below.
